Meet Linda

Linda HudsonI developed a love for baking as a child through several years of 4-H projects, and with the patiently devoted time of my mother. I spent hours upon hours of my childhood watching my mother bake and decorate cakes in our kitchen, sneaking a finger in the frosting bowl whenever possible! Maybe it was the constant flow of delicious goodies that surrounded me as a child, but I couldn’t imagine doing anything else for a career! Before I was a teenager, I was already decorating cakes for my family member’s special events. As a teenager, I pursued my interest in cake decorating through the traditional Wilton classes, and even participated in the farmers market on Saturday mornings in the small town of Weeping Water where I grew up.

I spent the next four years after high school at Johnson & Wales University in Denver, Colorado where I graduated in 2005 with an A.S. degree in Culinary Arts and a B.S. degree in Food Service Management. During those four years of culinary school, I worked under a master pastry chef from Poland at The Elegant Bakery, in which I learned more about pastry than I could ever imagine.

I returned to Lincoln in the summer of 2005 and have since been the Executive Pastry Chef at The Country Club of Lincoln, as I worked to build my own business. Each year I try to expand my knowledge of every area of pastry through outside education, uncountable hours of practice, and of course, the expert opinions of my friends, family, and customers! I hope you will enjoy my creations as much as I do!
